I hope you will enjoy this page, these tiny bodied dolls have my heart. They do not seem so tiny til you see one in person. They are quite fun to sew for, challenging to sew for, and so cute.
I own MANY of these Tiny Bodied Blythe Dolls. Most are Ali Blythes in Middie and adorable. I also have the Takara Middies.
I have done many Face Ups and added Two Pull Strings to their Eye Mech, I Sew, Crochet and Knit for them. I have also done MANY Channel Collabs using these cuties on Youtube.
Takara Middie Blythe Dolls
Takara Company came out with the first Middie, or Middle Sized Blythe Doll.
This is my Takara Middie Blythe, Iris Linea. I bought her, preloved, out of her box, to sew for and do Videos with for youtube. She is adorable isn't she?
I do own several of these, but the biggest part of my own Middie Collection are what I call, Ali Blythes, others call them Factory Blythes.
I am so bad about taking photos, I AM trying to be better about it, but could spend days just taking photos of my Middie Blythes.
The contents of this page for Middie Size Blythe is still under construction. Please check back later, it takes a LOT of time to build a website and add photos to it.
Middie Blythes
Middie Blythes, I LOVE them. Middie is really, Middle, as in smaller than a Neo sized Blythe, larger than a Mini or Petite Blythe.
Their eyes are different than the Neo Blythes. Neo Blythes eyes have a Pull String that you pull and their eyes change 4 ways and to different colors. The Middie Blythes have a dial in the back of their heads and when moved, their eyes can move from one side to the other....think old painting in a scary movie.
The Middie Blythe bodies are TINY! I compare them to a Bic Pen. If an adult puts their middle finger behind the body of a Middie Blythe, you can see the finger on each side of the doll's waist.
Middie Blythe Dolls stand 8" Tall, but their Bodies are only 5" of that height.
Sewing for the Middie Blythes is not an easy task. However, for me? It is a fun Challenge. And I like their clothing 'form fitting'.
This little Santa Jacket was a Christmas Ornament, a Tiny little Santa Suit Coat, that I found fit my Middies so well and cute.
Clothing for the Middie Blythe Dolls
I did this DIY to make a Cloak for a Middie Blythe. It is not hard to make, nor does it take a lot of time to make. These are cute at Halloween, for Renaissance Faires, a Winter Wrap, or even a cute Lace Over Cape for a fancy outfit. It all depends on the Fabrics you use to make them.
I offer a LOT of ideas and easy sewing Patterns on my Youtube Channel, Dolls Rescued, for all types of Dolls. My love (right now) are the Blythe Dolls and I have a LOT of Videos with the Blythes, DIYs, How Tos, Tutorials, and more. I will continue to upload these types of Videos. I hope you will take a look.
I am working to offer FREE Patterns on my Sewing, Crocheting and Knitting pages here on this site for the different sizes of Blythe Dolls.
We also offer Clothing, Shoes and more in our On Line Store here at this site.
Where to Find Shoes for the Middie Blythe Doll
Finding shoes to fit your Middie Blythe is not a hard task, however, some can be really expensive. With the work involved, I understand that, but I just do not spend my money like that.
I was buying these little $1 dolls in the Dollar Stores. The dolls are VERY tiny, as are Middie Blythe Feet. The shoes came in pink and I took a permanent pen to them. The shoes fit very well and stayed on.
My husband, Deron, loves tweaking with his 3D Printers and has made a Model (Model=Pattern) for Middie Blythe Shoes for me. I now have shoes for my Middies in MANY colors that click on and fit perfect. While we do not share or sell the Model, we do offer shoes in our On Line Shop.
Doll Stands for the Middies
Well Fitting, Correctly Working, Stable for the tiny bodies and big heads, Doll Stands are HARD to find for the Middie (any) Blythe Doll. I am Blessed that my husband Deron Kazmaier, not only has 3D Printers, but enjoys making and surprising me with items he makes on them.
We do offer the Middie Doll Stands in our On Line Store at this site...and in MANY colors.
Middie Blythe Customs
The Middie Blythes are ADORABLE! And there are sure some CUTE Customs out there. But I will be honest, there are some messed up faces on some too.
The Middie Blythe has a face, that I , describe as 'like a Pug' (the dog breed). The Middie Blythe Doll faces are very small and round and kinda all pushed to the middle of the head.
A person really needs, when working on their Middie's faces, to back up, take a look, and leave it alone a day, come back with fresh eyes. A really cute idea on a Neo (full sized Blythe) can go wrong in a heart beat on a Middie.
I have done MANY Middie Blythe Customs, I LOVE these Mid Sized Blythe Dolls. This video shows my little Dark Fairy Middie Blythe.
HOWEVER! Always remember two things. 1. Beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder. (so true) 2. No one thinks you are as cute as your mama thinks you are. This is usually true of artists/customizers. If you do not like someone's work, be VERY careful how you approach the question, "Do you think she is cute?", or "How do you like the way I did her eyes?", or worse, the very worse!, "I don't like her mouth, what do you think?". Keep in mind, most are not really asking you to NOT like their work. Most are fishing for a compliment.
much more and photos to come
