These dolls were made 2001 as a revival for the Takara Blythe Doll when the craze started over them. The Little Big Eyes are a bit different and they have a button to push, to change the eyes, rather than a string to pull like the Blythe Dolls.
I LOVE these Dolls and have several. This little Purple Haired Girl I bought so that I could sew for her. I have another like her, but she is in her orginal clothing and I hated to remove it. The pants are pleather and I do not want to ruin those taking the off and on.
NIB = New In Box
I have many dolls in my Collection that I Collect NIB. I like them that way. Yes, they do take up more room, to me, worth it.
I have 3 of the Little Big Eyes NIB and a few that I bought out of the box to 'play' with, that is sew for, photograph, and if I decide to, take places to show them off.
One Of My Favorite Dolls
THIS little Purple Haired Little Big Eyed Doll is one of my VERY Favorites in my entire Collection.
I bought her, out of the box, so that I could 'play' with her, sew for her, ect. But when she came, she was in such GREAT shape and her clothing so very nice, I just did not want to undress her and ruin her pleather pants and or the top and jacket too. So she stands by my Computer, in her Original Outfit. And I enjoy seeing her each morning there waiting for me.
Because of this, I bought another Purple Haired, Streetwise, Little Big Eyes to sew for, see first photo on this page. They are just so cute, I could not help myself.
Clothing For Little Big Eyes Dolls
Like Blythe Dolls, Little Big Eyes can wear some Barbie Clothing. They can also wear some Blythe Clothing.
Most 1/6 Scale Doll Clothing would be ok for the Little Big Eye Dolls, however, if you really wanted that snug fit, that right and correct fit, you may have to alter the clothing a little bit, or make clothing for them.
You can also make items and find items like Christmas Ornaments just for fun.
Sewing For The Little Big Eyes Dolls
You can use Blythe Doll Clothing Patterns for Little Big Eyes Dolls. The Little Big Eyes do have a longer, and perhaps thinner body than a Registered Trade Mark Blythe Doll. I would recommend trying the outfits you are making on the Little Big Eye as you sew.
Since there are no "Little Big Eyes Clothing Patterns", I am assuming a person sewing for them will use a Barbie or Blythe Pattern. Blythe would probably be better for the Little Big Eyes Body, but I will suggest, not matter what Pattern you do use, that as you sew for your Little Big Eyes Dolls, try the outfit on as you go. The bodies are a bit different.
I will be adding photos and ideas for Patterns to this Site very soon.
What About Shoes For Little Big Eyes
All of my Little Big Eyes Doll came with shoes. Because the Shoes for these dolls are a , and the doll's legs are too, and because the shoe fits very snug, most are still with the dolls.
Barbie and Registered Trade Mark Blythe Shoes are too small for the Little Big Eyes.
I am just going to use Neo Ali Blythe Shoes that I heat and squeeze more snug for the Little Big Eyes Dolls. They are a bit too large, but, I am not going to ask Deron to Calculate and Calibrate Doll Shoes that I would only need a few for. AND, the shoes look fine on the dolls. So for me. That is what my Little Big Eyes Dolls will wear for shoes when I need other colors other than the Shoes they come with.
Little Big Eyes Doll Stands
I am very lucky in that Deron makes my Doll Stands. He has made them in many different sizes and in many different colors.
My Little Big Eyed Dolls are using a Blythe Doll Stand, with the Upright (stick) cut just a little longer. These are working wonderfully for the Little Big Eyes Dolls.
These Little Big Eyes Dolls are a size that can EASILY use a Standard Metal Doll Stand.
PLEASE, BECAUSE OF THEIR HEAVY HEADS, TO NOT USE A SADDLE OR FOOT TRAP STAND FOR THESE TYPES OF DOLLS. The weight of the head can cause unballance and pull the doll over, breaking the plastic.... See Kenner Blythe Dolls. This is a big problem at the pelvis plastic.
I asked Deron to 3D Print a Stand Base for my newest (to me, she is used) Little Big Eyes Doll. I really love how this turned out.
Comparing Little Big Eyes to A Few Different Blythe Dolls
I created this video to show the differences between a Streetwise Little Big Eyes and a Kenner Blythe, Takara Blythe, Ali Blythe and a Basaak Blythe.
Little Big Eyes is NOT a Blythe Doll, just a Cousin, much like a Pullip Doll.
I will be adding more information very soon, as well as more photos.
The contents of this page for Little Big Eyes - Streetwise is still under construction. Please check back later!
